Come join the Franklin Grand Isle Bookmobile team as we put on Big Rig Day 2018! This fun event is a family-friendly, free event where kids from all over the county can come to explore a variety of trucks and ask the drivers all of their burning questions. As a volunteer for this event, we would likely have you perform a variety of tasks in different roles throughout the course of the program. Some of the activities we anticipate needing assistance for are:
-Reading a story to a group of kids on the Bookmobile
-Helping people sign in
-Keeping track of times for story time on the Bookmobile
-Collecting scavenger hunt papers
We are open to volunteers who can commit to assisting for at least one hour of the event. PLEASE NOTE THAT IT MAY BE VERY COLD AND MOST OF THESE ACTIVITIES WILL BE OUTDOORS. We may not be able to have each volunteer inside at some point, so please come dressed appropriately for the weather, especially if you plan on staying for the entire event.
