Mission: To respond to the needs of Hinesburg residents while fostering community and extending a helping hand.
The Hinesburg Community Resource Center (HCRC) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting individuals and families in Hinesburg, Vermont, by providing access to essential services and resources. The center serves as a vital hub for community support, offering programs that address the needs of local residents, particularly those facing economic challenges. HCRC focuses on building a strong, connected community by offering services such as food assistance, clothing, and access to health resources. The organization strives to promote well-being and self-sufficiency while fostering a sense of community and mutual aid among Hinesburg residents.
What We Do
Key Features, Services, and Programs:
- Hinesburg Food Shelf: Provides pantry staples, fresh produce, dairy products, and personal care items to residents in need. The food shelf operates on Tuesday evenings from 5:30–7:30 p.m. and Friday mornings from 10 a.m.–noon.
- Friends of Families: Offers playgroups, parent education, and community connections for young families. Weekly playgroups meet every Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Parish Hall of United Church of Hinesburg.
- Emergency Assistance Fund: Provides financial support to residents facing emergencies.
- Medical Equipment Lending: Lends medical equipment to individuals in need.
- Twice is Nice Thrift Store: Operates a thrift store offering gently used women’s clothing, accessories, and small household goods. Proceeds benefit all HCRC programs.
