The Missisquoi NWR will conduct Refuge Green Up Day on May 4, 2018. Green Up day will begin at 9 AM and conclude at about noon. All participants should meet at the Louie’s Landing Parking Lot on RT 78 in West Swanton VT. The refuge will concentrate its efforts on river cleanup activities using refuge boats.
Participants will be dropped off in various shorelines and walking though marsh and wetlands, so rubber boots or waders are advised.
Meeting Location is LOUIE’S LANDING. ----- 1. From I89, take Exit 21 ----- 2. Turn Left (West) on Route 78. (0.7 Mi.) ----- 3. Turn right on to Grand Ave/US-7/VT-78. (0.1 Mi) (Swanton Public Library is on the right) ----- 4. Turn slight left and follow Route 78, which crosses the river. (0.2 Mi) ----- 5. Take the 2nd right onto N River St / VT-78 (N River St. is just past Foundry St.) ----- 6. Louie’s Landing boat launch is approximately 3.5 miles on your right. LOOK FOR the REFUGE SIGNS for LOUIE’S LANDING.
