Volunteer: English Language TutorMercy Connections is looking for two ELL tutors who could work with low-literacy level students on Wednesday evenings (ending by 7:00 PM), starting as soon as possible. One would be working with a Citizenship Preparation student who has Spanish as his first language. His oral / aural skills are intermediate, but he is a beginner in literacy skills. The other is very fluent in oral / aural skills but is at a 2nd grade reading level in English. Her first language is French. The time commitment would be two hours every Wednesday, plus a one-time training. Materials, ongoing resources and support are provided by the Tutoring Program Coordinators.
